Carly Rae Jepsen blames the media for tarnishing the Bieber brand ''He is the good guy and doing best as he can''

In her new interview with music magazine Billboard, Jepsen, the 27-year-old singer from Mission, B.C., blames the media for tarnishing the Bieber brand. Bieber has been hammered on a wide variety of fronts for a variety of irresponsible antics including being hours late for concerts.

“I actually am so out of the loop on any of that, to be honest. People are constantly like’ I’ve not really noticed any of that,” Jepsen told the magazine. “I feel like Justin’s a guy who’s working hard every day, and I think the media can sometimes be a little brutal with stuff and over-exaggerate things.”

The otulandish hijinks pinned on the 19-year-old Baby singer have not turned Jepsen against him.

“But I stand by him. I support him,” Jepsen said. “I think he’s a good guy and he’s doing the best he can.”

Bieber helped kick Jepsen’s career into high gear by promoting her ubiquitous debut single, Call Me Maybe.

Jepsen earlier told Seventeen magazine she has relied on Bieber for advice on her career and on dodging the pitfalls of stardom.

“Justin leads by example. I love that he works hard and has fun,” Jepsen told the magazine. “I was in Paris promoting my new album, Kiss, for three days with no time off. So I went out at four in the morning to go explore the entire city. I try to make moments happen that feel very special and memorable because that’s exactly how Justin does it.”
